The cosmological constant existed in Einstein's general theory of relativity in the field equation given as
Now, proving this entire equation involves tensor calculus. Hence, it is not feasible to prove the entire theory here.
After the observations of the expanding Universe done by Edwin Hubble in 1929, Einstein had to abandon the existence of Λ as it suggested that Universe is static.
