Solution for your first query,
- Atomic size decreases as we move from left to right.
- This is because, the incoming electron gets added to the same orbital.
- Hence, the attraction between the positive neutrons from the nucleus and negative electrons in the outermost orbital keeps increasing which results into decrease in size.
