Find the equation of the line passing through (-5,7) and parallel to y-axis. Please give an explanation, since i think that the slope of a line parallel to y-axis is undefined. Thank you

The line is in R2.
→ The equation y = mx + b will not help you.
As the slope of a line parallel to y-axis tends to infinity(undefined).
→ We will use,
The equation of the line parallel to y axis is x = a, where a is x intercept .
As a line passes through point(-5,7) ,the value of a for this equation is -5. Thus the equation of the line is x=-5
→x+5=0 ….. this is the Equation of the line running parallel to y axis and passing through (-5,7) point .
