Are there two types of classifications of traits like dominant-recessive trait and acquired-inherited traits?
What is the basis of their classification?

Acquired and inherited traits and dominant-recessive traits are different concepts. These are not the categories of classification of traits.

  • Acquired trait is the one which develops in response to the environment and cannot be inherited.
  • Inhertied trait is inherited from the previous generation.
  • Dominant trait is the one which is expressed in the phenotype.
  • Recessive trait is expressed in the phenotype when there is no dominant allele present for the particular trait.
