An object of height 4 cm is placed at a distance of 24 cms in fornt of a convex lens of focal length 8 cm. Draw ray diagram to find the position of the image. State the characteristics of the image.

Using lens formula, the positive sign shows that the image is to the right of the lens and is at 12 cm from the lens, i.e. the image is formed between F and 2F. Since only the real and inverted image is formed on the right hand=and side of a convex lens, therefore, the image is real and inverted.
