Expert Answer
The adaptive immune system possesses a memory component that allows for an efficient and dramatic response upon reinvasion of the same pathogen. Immunological memory is the ability of the immune system to quickly and specifically recognize an antigen that the body has previously encountered and initiate a corresponding immune response. It means that if your body gets infected by a particular kind of disease then your body start making antibodies again. Thus, if the same disease-causing agent infects your body, then your immune system already has the antidote to fight back.
