2(x + 1) =3(1 - x)  
 
Taking log on both the sides, we get
(x + 1) log2 = (1 - x) log3
 
(x + 1) log2 = (1 - x) log3
 
xlog2 + log2 = log3 - xlog3
 
xlog2 + x log3 = log3 - log2
x(log2 + log3) = (log3 - log2)
