Expert Answer
Second equation of motion describes distance S travelled by a body in a time duration t seconds,
if it starts with initial velocity u and moving with constant acceleration a.
If initial velocity is u and final velocity after t seconds is v, then average velocity = (u+v)/2
distance S travelled in t seconds is given by, S = [(u+v)/2]×t ..................(1)
we have final velocity v as, v = u+a×t ....................(2)
where a is acceleration
By substituting v from eqn.(2) in eqn.(1), we get, S = u×t + (1/2)a×t2 ..................(3)
