1. The coronary arteries are responsible for carrying nutrient rich, oxygenated blood from the left ventricle to the myocardium.
2. Most of the blood cells are made in the bone marrow. The main workers at the factory are the blood stem cells. They are relatively small in number but are able to reproduce vital numbers of red cells, white cells and platelets.
When a stem cell divides, it first becomes an immature red blood cell, white blood cell, or platelet-producing cell. The immature cell then divides, matures further, and ultimately becomes a mature red blood cell, white blood cell, or platelet.
