1. what is the value of magnetic field within a hollow sphere made of ferromagnetic substance? and         explain why?
 
 
2. when a compass needle be placed at magnetic north pole how would it behave?if a dip needle be         placed at a place ,how would it behave?

(a) The compass needle is placed at the magnetic North Pole of the Earth. Now at this point, the horizontal component of the Earth's field is zero and only the vertical component exists. 
 
We know that a compass needle is free to rotate only in the horizontal plane. Hence, the needle will stay in the position it last was before moving to the North Pole. In other words, there will be no change in the position of the needle.
 
(b) A dip needle is a device which unlike the compass needle, rotates in a vertical plane. Now at the poles, the angle of dip is 90°. Hence, the dip needle will stand vertical if it was originally vertical. If the needle was not vertical, then it would align itself in the vertical direction.
