  1. A force which acts at the surfaces of contact, when one body moves upon another body is called force of friction.

  2. (i) it wears out the soles of shoes 

    (ii) it wears out the moving parts of machinery.


  3. (i) by oiling or greasing the moving parts of machinery.

        (ii) by providing wheels.
