1. Different units were used for measurement in different countries. The MKS and CGS systems were developed considering the fundamental quantities such as length, mass and time.
MKS - metre, kilogram and second,
CGS - centimetre, gram and second 
 
2. Unit of density is 'kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m3)' or 'grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm3)'
But, usually the density of a substance is given in MKS system. Thus, it will be 7 kg/m3.
