Let three numbers be (x-1), x and (x+1)

Given :  (x-1)2 + x (x+1) = 46

2x2 -x + 1 = 46   or    2x2 -x -45  = 0

LHS can be factorised and written as, (2x+9)(x-5) = 0   or  x = 5

Hence numbers are, 4, 5 and 6
