Expert Answer
The work function Φ of the metal is given by
Φ = hfo
where fo = threshold frequency of the metal below which no emission of electron is obtained.
Einstein's photoelectric equation is eV = Emax = hf - Φ
= hf - hfo = h (f - fo)
where Emax is the maximum kinetic energy of the electrons and V is the stopping potential for the electrons.
Therefore, eV1 = Emax = h (f - fo)
Hence, correct option is (c)
