Let X be the height of the parallelogram. The side to which the height is lowered 3X. The area of the parallelogram is calculated by the formula: S = a × h, where a is the side, and h is the height of the parallelogram drawn to it.

We write the equation:

96 = 3X × X

96 = 3X ^ 2

X ^ 2 = 96 ÷ 3

X ^ 2 = 32

X = 5.66 cm – height

5.66 × 3 = 16.98 cm – side of the parallelogram
