CBSE Class 11-science Maths Relations and Functions
Cartesian Product of Sets
Define the ordered pairs as the pair of elements grouped in a particular order and discuss the Cartesian product of sets.Relations
A relation R from a non-empty set A to a non-empty set B is a subset of the Cartesian product of sets.
The set of all the first elements of the ordered pair in a relation R is called the domain of the relation R.
The set of all second elements of the ordered pair in a relation R is called the range of the relation R.
The set B is called the co-domain of the relation R from A to B. Range is always a subset of co-domain.Functions
Every relation is not a function but every function is a relation.
A function f from a non-empty set A to a non-empty set B is a relation from A to B such that every element of A has a unique image.
Set of all the images is known as the Range.A real function is a function with domain and domain as the set of real numbers.Graphs and Algebra of Functions
Graph of special types of functions. Combine the various functions by defining the algebra of functions.
