TopperLearning spreads the joy of learning across the faces of Teach For India!

“I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge the fact that you are one of the reasons we are all able to provide these great environments to our students. I am looking forward to one more enriching year at Teach For India.”

-Fellow, Teach For India.

TopperLearning, the Ed-tech arm of Network18, is pioneering the trend of using visual and interactive technology in online education in India. But this time with yet another vision. A vision to spread happiness and learning among students from the under-resourced schools. We reached out to become a part of the movement initiated by Teach For India—for educational equity for all children for a better and a brighter India. Together, we intend every child to grow as an educated and responsible citizen of the country. Learning has become fun and smart with TopperLearning because of our ability to connect with students from all the corners of the country.

There are two types of schools when it comes to develop the learning methods; one- which is the physical classroom setting that has been religiously followed by the Institutes so far. This setting has been revolving around every change in the education system turning it into valuable context for the students in the country; two- second is usage of visual and interactive technologies in this setting to improve the studying environment for the students. It is easy to assume that our education environment needs an upgrade, but is it always possible especially in the under-resourced schools? An ‘Under-resourced school’ is an Institute which does not have sufficient learning resources. There are many reasons to be concerned with the education in India even today and that’s why TopperLearning forwarded its helping hand to begin with one. We aim to care about being able to look at data and point at exactly what makes our approach valuable.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, we tried to enforce the true definition of effective learning. According to data released by Teach For India, 52% of 5th standard students in these under-resourced schools cannot read text from a 2nd standard textbook. This is because of the lack of study materials and sufficiently qualified teachers in both primary and upper-primary schools. Where many dedicated youths of our country are part of this program as fellow teachers to design a better classroom setting with better education, we stepped in with our study materials to assist them in creating Toppers. The students thoroughly enjoyed learning with our resources and even started performing much better in the classroom. “I love to study with TopperLearning’s video lessons!” exclaimed a radiant girl while she learnt a concept in biology with our Class 10 resources.

Today, we focus on the changes that revolve around; identify unique methods and incorporate them into the online education in India to make learning fun for all the students. We are proud to share this great achievement with all our Toppers. Our team is eagerly waiting to further enrich the years to come with Teach For India to give the children’s innocent faces the light to enjoy education with freedom in order to grow as a responsible citizen.
