Top Engineering Entrance Exams after Class 12

1. MHT-CET

The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, conducts a common entrance test MHT-CET for colleges in Maharashtra.

Eligibility: Students should have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 50% marks.

2. IIT JEE (Main and Advanced)

Students who want to pursue Engineering can opt for the national-level Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) after passing Class 12. The exam is held in April. JEE Main is the first part of the JEE followed by JEE Advanced.

Eligibility: Students should have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the required subjects.

3. AIEEE

Conducted by CBSE, the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is an important exam for students who want to pursue B.E/B.Tech. AIEEE is the gateway to various NITs and state-level engineering institutes. AIEEE features objective type of questions covering subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The exam also has 1/4th negative marking for each wrong answer.

Eligibility: Students should have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 50% marks.

4. BITSAT

Birla Institute of Science and Technology conducts BITSAT for students who want to pursue bachelors of engineering. The exam is conducted at the Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses of the institute. It is a 3-hour exam and consists of 150 objective type questions. There is also a negative marking in the exam.

Eligibility: Students must have passed the Class 12 examination with 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and 60% in each subject.

5. COMEDK UGET

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) for admissions to Engineering and Medical colleges in the state. Two tests are held during the exam. The first test covers Physics and Chemistry, while the second test covers Mathematics and Biology.

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed the Class 12 examination.

6. EAMCET

The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted in Andhra Pradesh for entry into Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Veterinary Science in the state.

Eligibility: Students from Andhra Pradesh should have passed the Class 12 examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students from other states are not eligible to apply for the test. Students should achieve at least 25% marks in order to qualify for admission[CLA1] .

7. VITEEE

Vellore Institute of Technology conducts VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) for B.Tech. aspirants across the country.

Eligibility: Students should have passed the Class 12 examination.

8. DCE Entrance Exam

The DCE Entrance Exam is conducted by Delhi Technological University for admission into this most sought after institute for engineering.

Eligibility: Students should have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
