Never take your security for granted

If you think that any social site is just an online platform and can’t harm much, then you’re totally wrong. Make sure you explore the security tab on the social media platform and keep your profile secured. It’s very important to keep things private on social media platforms.

Never accept or send a friend request to strangers

We know that social networking sites are meant for networking and making new friends. However, you need to be extra careful in doing so. You can’t just blindly accept or send friend requests to unknown people. There are many fake profiles on social networks; thus, be careful and alert while making friends. It’s always better to not add strangers to your profile.

Never forget to logout from your account

We know it’s a silly thing to say, but you should always remember to logout from social media platforms, especially when you’re using a computer in a cyber cafe. Also, never tick on the ‘keep me logged in’ option when accessing your account from a computer outside home.

Don’t make your profile and photos public

It’s really fascinating to share your photos and other information with your friends to invite their comments and likes. However, make sure they’re secured and only visible to your friends and not everyone else. There’s always an option to keep your photos and other information secure; make use of these options to stay safe.

Think before you post

One would say, “It’s my wall, my account and I’m entitled to post things which interest me.” This isn’t right. Our posts are read by people in our friend list and we can’t be insensitive to them. Make sure your posts are decent enough to not offend anybody.
