Supreme Court Cancels CBSE Medical Entrance Test
The Court has ordered the CBSE to conduct fresh exams within four weeks.
The Supreme Court has scrapped the All India Pre-Medical Test for admission to undergraduate medical courses this year after its question paper was leaked. The Court has ordered the CBSE to conduct fresh exams within four weeks.
The order came after several students petitioned the Court challenging that the integrity of the test had been compromised. The Supreme Court also directed all institutions to extend cooperation in conducting fresh exams.
The CBSE opposed a re-examination, stating that 6.3 lakh students cannot take the exam afresh when only 44 students were found involved in cheating. About 6.3 lakh students appeared for the exam; nearly 4,000 would have been admitted to medical colleges across India.
