NCERT Celebrates 54th Foundation Day
The theme this year was Gender Inclusion
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) celebrates its 54th Foundation Day, today, 1 September 2014. A very interesting theme has been chosen for this year’s celebrations.
‘Gender Inclusion’ is the theme for the 54th Foundation Day and various events exhibiting gender justice and equality in all walks of life were lined up for this special day. Events for the day included display of books, posters & charts on gender inclusion; series of exhibitions on gender inclusion; demonstrations; guiding and counseling sessions, among others.
Smriti Irani (HRD Minister) and Maneka Gnadhi (Minister for Women and Child Development) addressed the audience. There were also other prestigious guests in attendance.
NCERT had extended an open invitation to school children, school teachers and all those interested in school education to be part of the celebrations.
