MHT-CET 2023: Counselling Process

Once the MHT-CET exams are over, all candidates look forward to the start of the counselling process. The process begins at the end of the exams. Aspirants need to follow a set procedure to be eligible for counselling and enter their college of choice.

The counselling process contains the following steps:

1. Registration

Candidates need to register on the counselling portal to be eligible for counselling. First, Aspirants visit the official MHT-CET website and click on the counselling registration link on the home page. Then enter personal details such as name, gender, contact details, annual income and so on, as mentioned on the page. Once all details have been entered, candidates must answer a security question and set up a password.

Once the registration is done, candidates must submit details related to Class 10 & 12 and their MHT-CET examination.

2. Document Upload

After registration, students need to upload their photographs and scanned signatures. The photograph file size should be 4 KB to 100 KB, while the image should be 3.5cm x 4.5cm. The signature file size should be 1 KB to 30 KB.

3. Counselling Fee

Once the registration is complete and all mentioned documents have been uploaded, candidates who want admission via JEE Main will be required to pay the counselling fee in online mode. Candidates who have qualified for the MHT-CET 2023 need not pay the fees.

The fees may vary depending on the category.

  • Candidates from the General category, those who have applied from outside Maharashtra and the children of any Indian workers in Gulf countries will pay Rs. 800.
  • Maharashtrian candidates from the reserved category and persons with disability will pay a counselling fee of Rs. 600.
  • The counselling fee for children of NRIs / PIO / OCI, Foreign National is Rs. 5000.

4. Print out and Document Verification

Candidates need to take a printout of the counselling registration form since it will be needed during document verification at their designated Felicitation Center (FC). At the document verification, students need to carry their original documents as well as a set of attested copies of the listed documents.

5. Choice Filling

After that, candidates need to choose the colleges and courses they hope to bag a seat in, ensuring they mention the names in the order of preference. Students will be able to select their college of choice after every round of counselling.

6. Seat Allotment

Once authorities have announced the final merit list for MHT CET 2023, students can view the shortlisted candidates. The authorities will do the seat allotment in three rounds according to the merit list and the candidates' choices. The allotment will follow the CAP or the Centralized Admission Process. Once the seats have been allotted, candidates can choose to freeze, float or slide the seat if they want to finalise it, wait for a bit, or reject it.
