Maharashtra State Board Class 10 Geometry Post-Paper Analysis

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education conducted the Mathematics, Geometry – Paper II, exam for students of Class 10 today. About 17 lakh students all over the state had appeared for this SSC board exam. After an easy Algebra paper, students were worried about the difficulty level of this paper, but thankfully, they were able to attempt the paper with ease.

Question Paper Structure

  • The question paper was segregated into 4 different sets — A, B, C and D.
  • However, the questions in all sets were more or less the same.
  • The paper consisted of questions worth 60 marks, out of which students had to attempt 40 marks.
  • The question paper had a total of five major questions as follows:

Chapter-wise Weightage Distribution

Most of the chapters had almost the same weightage in the exam, which is really good as majority of the students usually find it difficult if there is any major change in the weightage distribution. As always, Similarity was the favourite for examiners, followed by Circles, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Geometric Constructions and Co-ordinate Geometry.

The paper was completely designed in the usual manner, and there were no ‘out of syllabus’ questions asked, except for Q. 5., which was a tricky question. Students who solved textbook questions will find that it was very easy to score full marks in the Geometry exam.

The paper was not that lengthy, but there were construction-based questions. Had students smartly chosen the questions in the paper, they would have been able to finish it on time. Anyway, the paper is now over. Time to take a deep breath and move your focus to the next paper.

Team TopperLearning wishes you all the best for your upcoming SSC Class 10 exams!
