JEE Mains Registration Begins: Changes Introduced In 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2022 exam schedule for the April and May sessions. This year, NTA has made several adjustments to the JEE Main exam, including revisions to the exam pattern. The JEE Main 2022 exam will be computer-based, except for the B.Arch. The B.Arch examination, a drawing test, will be taken in "pen and paper" (offline) mode. In addition, the exam will only be held twice (in April and May).

On their official website, NTA has published a "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for JEE (Main) - 2022" pamphlet. Details such as syllabus, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, marking method, and more are included in the JEE Main 2022 booklet. Dates For JEE Mains 2022

The application form for JEE Main 2022 will be available on March 1, 2022.

The deadline for JEE Main application form submission is March 31, 2022.

The dates are April 16 to 21, 2022. (Session 1)

The dates are May 24 to 29, 2022. (Session 2)

JEE Main 2022: Changes In Application Process

The NTA has instituted a three-stage application process to simplify the process:

● Fill out a registration form.

● Now, fill out the application form (which contains personal information, applying for which city, qualification information, additional information, and document upload). The candidate's photos will be cross-checked in real-time while filling out the application form.

● Finally, make the payment. This year, the NTA has announced that each wrong answer would result in a one-point deduction in Section A (MCQ) and Section B (Numerical value).

Major Changes In JEE Main 2022

Number Of Sessions: The JEE mains 2022 exam will be held in two (April and May) sessions. Only Session 1 (April) will be available during the initial registration session, and Session 2 (May) will be accessible when the window is opened again.

Question Paper Language: In addition to Hindi and English, JEE Main 2022 will be held in Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Correction Facility: Under no circumstances would a correctional facility be provided.

 

Choice Of City: Candidates will be presented with a list of exam cities based on their permanent and current addresses provided during registration.

Income Of Parents/Guardians: A mandatory field is Family Annual Income (including Mother's/ Guardian's Gross Annual Income, Father's/ Guardian's Gross Annual Income, and Father's/ Mother's/ Guardian's Annual Income from Other Sources, if any).

 

Sending The Confirmation Message And Scorecard By E-Mail: The candidates' registered e-mail address will receive a copy of the confirmation page and the final scorecard.

Umang And DigiLocker: NTA is providing an extra platform of UMANG and DigiLocker for all candidates to download their documents such as Admit Card, Confirmation Page, Score Cards, and so on.

 

Exam format: The examination paper is split into two portions. 90 questions will appear in Paper 1, and applicants will only be required to answer 75 of them. In addition, for 15 optional questions, there will be no negative grading. The following are the specifics of the paper:

  1. B.E./B.Tech. (Paper 1-: Each Subject will have two sections):  Section A will consist of multiple-choice questions, whereas Section B will consist of questions with numerical solutions. Students must attempt any five of the ten questions in Section B.
  2. Bachelor of Architecture (Paper 2A- Part -1 will have two sections): Section A will comprise multiple-choice questions, whereas Section B will comprise questions with numerical solutions. Candidates must answer any five of the ten questions in Section B.
  3. B Planning (Part -1 of Paper 2B- will be divided into two sections): Section A will consist of multiple-choice questions, whereas Section B will consist of 10 questions, out of which 5 of them need to be answered.
