JEE Main scores now applicable for admissions in Maharashtra

The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, has issued a directive that admissions to the first year of undergraduate engineering courses within Maharashtra will be based on the scores of the All India Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2014.

Earlier, a separate Common Entrance Test (CET) was conducted for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in the state. However, students' scores in JEE Main Paper 1 will be used starting this academic year 2014-2015. Apart from the JEE Main scores, marks obtained by students in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination will also be considered for final admission.

Students from the states of Gujarat, Nagaland, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh will also be taking JEE Main 2014. Thus, the question papers will be set in Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu in addition to English and Hindi.
