JEE Main 2022 exam commenced on 23rd June 2022. Day 4 –26th June 2022 Shift 1 was conducted from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Shift 2 from 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm for Paper 1 BE/B.Tech. The question papers for both shifts comprised 90 questions, 30 from Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. The students were given a total time of 90 minutes to complete their exams. Every correct answer would be rewarded 4 points, while an incorrect one will lead to the deduction of 1 mark.

1st Shift, 26th June 2022: Major Highlights
Students who appeared for the JEE Main 26th June 2022 Shift 1 exam summarised the paper in the following statements:
● The JEE Main 2022 question paper was moderately difficult but was easier than the previous year’s (2021) JEE Main paper.
● The difficulty level of numerical answertype questions was average.
● The Chemistry section was easier compared to the other two.
● The Mathematics section was the most timeconsuming of all.

Questions were asked on all topics. The Conic Sections and Calculus had focus. The calculations for the numerical answertype questions were extensive. Some questions were difficult for an average student. 
Physical chemistry was given more weightage than Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. The following topics were given more focus:

The topics covered in the question paper were: The numerical answer questions were simple. Factbased questions were majorly from class NCERT Class XII chapters. 
Overall: The paper was moderately difficult, with the Mathematics section being the most challenging and Physics the easiest of all.
2nd shift, 26th June 2022: Major Highlights
● The paper was moderately difficult for an average student.
● Its pattern was somewhat similar to the previous year’s (2021) JEE Main paper.
● Chemistry was relatively easy, but Physics was moderately difficult.

It was the most timeconsuming section. The questions from Calculus were difficult. Even the simple questions demanded a lot of Mathematical calculations.
