JEE Main 2022 Paper Analysis - 25th June (Shift 1 & 2)

This year students rated the JEE 2022 Physics as the simplest section. They found the Maths and Chemistry section moderately difficult and time-consuming because of its complex calculations. Overall the JEE 2022 exam was rated easy to moderate by the students, and the questions were mostly based on Class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabus.

NTA holds the JEE Main 2022 first session examinations from 23 June to 29 June. On 25 June, the National Testing Agency governed the first and second shift of day 3 JEE Main 2022 examination. Experts and students rated the JEE 2022 exam as easy to moderate, with the Physics section being the simplest.

1st Shift, 25th June 2022 (Morning)

According to expert analysis, the JEE Chemistry 2022 section was mostly based on the Class 11 and 12 NCERT curriculum and textbooks. Therefore students who have thoroughly comprehended and revised the NCERT textbooks and NCERT exemplars have higher chances of scoring high grades in this section.

Chemistry:

Under the JEE 2022 Chemistry section, approximately five numerical-based questions were framed from Physical Chemistry, with the rest of the questions from Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. All questions from the Organic, Physical, and Inorganic syllabus were evenly distributed in the entire question paper. The examination covered chapters such as coordination compounds, environmental chemistry, equilibrium, p block, and thermodynamics, which were given higher weightage. "Overall questions were framed uniformly from almost all the chapters in the syllabus," remarked Ajay Sharma.

Physics:

This time students have rated JEE 2022 Physics as the easiest section among the all three. Students assume that applicants who have completed many mock examinations and sample papers will perform significantly better in this section. As per the experts, a minimum of five to seven questions were framed from these important topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves and sound, units and dimensions, optics and modern physics. Mostly the examination covered every chapter uniformly. A lot of numerical-based questions were also asked in the Physics examination.

Maths:

According to JEE 2022 students, due to complex calculations, the Maths section took a little longer than usual. Students assessed this subject as moderately challenging and remarked it as the most difficult section of the JEE 2022 examination. All the units covered questions with a major focus on algebra and conic sections. Under the algebra unit, chapters such as vectors, probability, 3D geometry, matrices and complex numbers were given more weightage. Along with these, a few good questions were sprinkled throughout the examination.

2nd shift, 25th June 2022 (Afternoon)

The JEE Main 2022 second shift on 25 June commenced at 3 p.m. and was completed at 6 p.m. Students commented that the second shift of the examination was moderately difficult and that the topics covered in all three disciplines were well-chosen. With Physics being the easiest section of all!

Chemistry:

Most of the questions in the Chemistry section were based on Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbooks. The questions were more from the physical and inorganic sections, while the organic section had several numerical-based problems. According to experts, students who practised and learned from the NCERT textbooks will perform better in the examination. Questions in this shift were almost about liquid solutions, polymers, lead reactions and organics.

Physics:

Physics was the easiest section of all three in the examination. The exam framed more numerical-based questions in comparison to theoretical type questions in the Physics section, yet practically all of them were basic formula-based questions. According to experts, the Physics paper was moderately easy for many students. "Questions were asked from practically all chapters, including optical instruments, communication systems, electromagnetic waves, and kinematics," stated Ajay Sharma.

Maths:

The questions framed in the JEE 2022 Mathematics section were moderately difficult. The questions asked were vectors, matrices and determinants, 3D geometry, mathematical reasoning, statistics and binomial theorem. The paper uniformly covered the entire syllabus. This year, the questions asked in the Maths section were more time-consuming and challenging than the previous year's examinations.

Conclusion

For some students, JEE Main 2022 examinations were easy to moderate, while for some students, it was moderately difficult. The majority of the students could complete their papers within the allocated time.
