ShareDay 4 of JEE Main 2023 Session 2 was conducted today, i.e., on the 11th of April, 2023. BE/BTech aspirants appeared for this exam which took place in two shifts—
- Shift 1: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Shift 2: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The question paper pattern for both shifts was the same. The paper comprised 90 questions each. For every correct answer, the student will obtain 4 marks, while an incorrect answer will cost them 1 mark. The best part is that unanswered questions lead to no mark deduction. Therefore, students are suggested to refrain from guesswork.

Though questions were posed from all chapters, the focus was on Algebra. The numerical section was lengthy but not too tricky. The paper focused on the following topics:

Mostly, NCERT-based questions were given. Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry were given equal importance. These topics enjoyed more weightage:

Overall: Chemistry and Physics were comparatively easier than Mathematics. All three subjects had questions from the NCERT curriculum. However, overall, the paper wasn’t easy.
2nd shift, 11th April 2023: Major Highlights
The students shared the following comments in response to the question paper:
- The paper was moderately difficult.
- It was tougher than the Session 1 exam.
- Physics and Chemistry were easier and could be easily completed within the given time frame.
- Maths was lengthy and slightly tricky.

The paper was quite time-consuming as both Numerical Based questions and Multiple Choice Questions required lengthy calculations. The following topics were given substantial weightage:

Physical and Inorganic chemistry had more weightage. Several NCERT questions were a part of the Chemistry section. Organic Chemistry had questions related to Polymers, Alcohols, Aldehydes & Ketones, Ethers & Phenols, and Alkyl Halides. These topics were in focus: |

Overall: Maths was lengthier, but an easier Physics section compensated for it. NCERT was in focus for all three, making the overall paper moderately difficult.
