IITs and NITs to start academic year in September 2020

The JEE aspirants of the year 2020 definitely had a rough start. The two major exams of the year for them, boards and JEE, both got delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, there is a new found ray of hope as the exam officials have announced that they plan on starting the academic calendar on September 2020.

“As the Advanced exam is contingent on JEE Main, it will require a buffer period of 2-3 weeks to conduct JEE Advanced post the results are declared. We are trying to conclude JEE Main during June 20-22 and the advanced exam will tentatively be conducted on July 12,” said Siddharth Pandey.

The institutes have not prepare their academic calendar but they should expect the session to start in September and accordingly made a plan. However, there will be challenges in this session as the counselling process takes time and it also includes the students who appeared in January 2020.

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), has started chalking out a plan in which they will negate the counselling physically and complete the process via internet. Additionally, colleges have also been asked to take online classes on the weekends once the session commences.
