IIT JEE Main 2016: Number of Attempts Increased to 3

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2016 is scheduled for 3 April 2016 (offline) and 9 and 10 April (online). Earlier only two attempts were allowed to clear the exam. However, now according to an official notification, the number of attempts has been increased to three. The registration for JEE Main 2016 began on 1 December and will end by 31 December.

About JEE:

JEE is divided into two sections – Main and Advanced.

JEE Main is held for admissions to National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur.

JEE Advanced is held for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. JEE Advanced is the second stage of examinations for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology, conducted by seven zonal IITs under the Joint Admission Board.
