In Part I, Question 1, questions were based on topographic maps. This year, students were asked questions on the Survey of India Map Sheet No. 45D/10.
Some questions related to the topo maps this year were a bit different from questions which are generally asked in past year papers. There were a couple of questions which required a deep observation of the topo map and so took more time to answer. However, some questions in this section were easy. Since a lot of practice and accuracy are required in comprehending and understanding topo maps, students who had regularly practised these maps throughout the year would have found it easy to score well in this section.
Part I, Question 2, dealt with map marking on an outline map of India. Most of the places which were to be located on the map of India were easy, such as locate Mumbai, Digboi, Deccan Plateau and the shading and labelling of the Gangetic Plains. Many of these questions were asked in previous years' papers. So, this section would have been easy for students who had practised map marking. One tricky question in this section was ‘Shade and label an area of laterite soil in North India’.
In Part II, as expected, questions were asked from the chapters Climate, Soil Resources, Natural Vegetation, Water Resources, Mineral Resources, Agriculture, Industries, Transport and Waste Management. In this part, students had to attempt any fivequestions with all sub-parts out of ninequestions.
This part was a mixed bag of easy and medium questions.

Most of the questions in the ICSE Class 10 Geography paper were direct, so students would have been able to attempt them with ease. Many questions had been asked in past year board papers. So, students who had solved past year papers during their study or revision sessions would easily be able to score 85% and above in this paper.
