If we compare the 2020 trend with that of 2019, we see a difference in marks distribution for some chapters.

‘Organic Chemistry’, one of the most important chapters in 2019, had the most weightage this year too. This was followed by the chapters 'Electrolysis', 'Mole Concept and Stoichiometry', and 'Metallurgy'. We found that there was a corresponding decrease in the weightage of marks for the chapter ‘sulphuric acid' as compared to last year.

Question Types and Difficulty Level

The ICSE Class 10 Chemistry question paper comprised of short answer questions which students could easily answer if they had a clear understanding of concepts. There were a few numericals from the chapter ‘Mole Concept’ which were quite easy and conceptual.

Questions from inorganic section were difficult and indirect. Organic Chemistry part was easy to score as compared to other chapters. Overall paper was of moderate level.
