How to Make Carrot Halwa

By Admin 22nd May, 2014 06:50 pm

Carrot halwa is one of the popular sweet dishes among Indians. Almost everybody likes this sweet dish. Here, we list simple steps to make carrot halwa.

First of all, you need to wash, peel and grate the carrots.

Put a cooker or any wide-mouthed vessel on the gas burner and add 4 tbsp. ghee. After the ghee gets heated, add the grated carrots and mix well with the ghee. Fry the carrots until they change the colour and turn pale. The process takes about ten minutes and even the raw smell goes away. Add milk to the fried carrots. Ensure that you add enough milk to cook the carrots properly.

Allow the carrots to absorb the milk. The process may take 20–25 minutes. Add sugar and mix well. Keep stirring at regular intervals till the halwa becomes thick. You can add cashew nuts to garnish your halwa. Serve hot and enjoy the dish!
