Gopinath Munde's Death: A Great Loss to BJP

Union Minister for Rural Development Gopinath Munde met with a road accident on Tuesday morning and later died of a heart attack.

Munde was on his way to the Delhi airport when his car was hit by an Indica car. He was supposed to take an early morning flight to Mumbai. Munde suffered minor injuries but instantly went into shock; he was rushed to the trauma centre at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Doctors declared him dead at 7:20 am. He was 64 years old.

The Indica driver has been detained and booked under Indian Penal Code's sections 304A and 279 for death due to negligence and rash driving. Gopinath Munde’s body will be flown to Latur and then to his hometown Parli in Beed district, where his last rites will be performed.

Munde’s death is a great loss to BJP. The Union Cabinet will meet at 4 pm to pay their condolence to the deceased minister and mourn his loss.
