Maharashtra will now offer a Diploma Course in Marathi. The Department of Higher and Technical Education is chalking out a plan to translate the diploma course in Marathi with an aim to attract more students from rural parts of Maharashtra who can opt for technical education.

With the exception of technical terms, the entire curriculum will be translated in Marathi. Things are still at the planning stage, and the final proposal will soon be put up before the state cabinet. As of now, the Mechanical Engineering Diploma programme will be translated and the other diploma courses will be covered eventually.
