Eid Special: Different Hours of Fasting All Over the World

This infographic charts out the different hours of fasting done by Muslims in the holy month of Ramazan all over the World. The hours vary due to different time zones all across the world as they are related to the sunrise and sunset timings of respective countries.

In Europe, the fasting hours are long as the days are longer and nights being shorter over there.  In countries like England, Germany and France, where there are millions of Muslims residing, the fasting hours are dreadfully long ranging from 18 to 20 hours in a day. Countries in the North Pole like Iceland have 22 hours of fasting leaving only a few hours for nourishment.

The hours mentioned below are calculated between the Morning Prayer, Fajr (the starting time of the fasting) and the Evening Prayer, Maghrib (the fast ends after this prayer).
