CLAT 2016 Exam Date Announced
The date for Common Law Admission Test for entry into 17 national law universities has been announced.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for entry into 17 national law universities for the academic session of 2016–17 will be held on 8 May 2016. The online application submission for the same will start on 1 January 2016.
CLAT is conducted for admitting successful candidates to the five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA plus LLB) Honors and one-year Master of Law (LLM) programme.
Eligibility criteria/Educational qualifications:
For the undergraduate programme: A candidate must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks in case he/she belongs to the General/OBC/Specially-abled Persons (SAP) category and at least 40% in case he/she belongs to the SC/ST category. Those appearing for the qualifying exam in March/April 2016 from a government-recognised board can also apply. There is no age limit prescribed for the exam next year.
For the postgraduate programme: A candidate must have passed LLB or an equivalent degree exam with a minimum of 55% marks in case of General/OBC/SAP category and 50% in case of SC/ST category. A candidate appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2016 is also eligible to apply.
Application fee
The online application fee for the test is Rs 4,000 for General, OBC and SAP candidates, and Rs 3,500 for SC and ST candidates.
The last date for the submission of the duly filled online application form is 31 March 2016.
