CISCE to introduce its own syllabus from pre-school to Class 8

The ICSE Board will now prescribe syllabus for classes from pre-school to class 8 from 2017. The curriculum will be released at the 59th annual conference of Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) beginning in Lucknow from November 23.

CISCE Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon said, “Earlier, we were preparing curriculum only for classes 9 to 12. But now, having our own syllabus right from pre-school will help students to prepare for ICSE examinations in a better way. Students will be capable of working towards the board examinations much before.”

Most schools were following books prescribed by the NCERT for junior classes till VIII. The revised syllabi for ISC (Class 12) and ICSE (class 10) will be applicable for students taking the exam in 2018. Alterations in the ICSE 2018 syllabus have been made in history and civics, geography, mathematics and physics.
