CBSE to split fee amount to make education affordable to all

The CBSE has taken a huge step in making education affordable to one and all. Recently, there was news that private schools across India have increased their annual fees. This caused panic among parents who couldn’t afford to cough up such humungous amounts of money.

To ease this burden, the CBSE is in talks to make the educational institutions divide the fee structure into basic and premium components. This means that the basic fee, which includes tuition charges and bare necessities would be paid by all students, but

the premium part would be payable only by students who opt for extra-curricular activities. A CBSE panel instituted to overhaul the ground rules for granting affiliation to schools is expected to make this recommendation.

According to a CBSE official, when the CBSE takes a final decision on the matter and it is approved, this rule would be applicable to upcoming schools as well as the 18,000 existing ones.
