CBSE to hold contests on Dr Ambedkar’s birthday

In a bid to honour Dr B. R. Ambedkar, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct its latest Expression Series of writing and drawing contests on his birthday which falls on 14 April.

For the contest, there are three categories for students of various classes. Students of standards 1−5, 6–8 and 9–12 can participate in their respective categories. They will have to submit either an essay, a poem or a drawing. The essay and poem can be written in any of the 22 scheduled languages or in English.

Entries have to be submitted between 9 am and 9 pm on 13 and 14 April. The 36 best entries, 12 in each category, will be given a cash prize of Rs 2,500 and a certificate. Each participant will also receive a certificate of participation. Selection of the best entries for the content will be based on originality and creative expression.
