CBSE to conduct board exams in March and not in February

The Central Board of Secondary Education announced that it will hold its Class 10th and 12th final exams from the first week of March post Holi and not advance to February, as stated earlier by the sources. The country’s largest Education Board is also contemplating on curbing the 45 to 50 days duration of the final exams. The exams will be conducted for a shorter period to bring in the much needed improvement in the evaluation process. However, the duration cannot be ascertained as of now as the board is still mulling over the reduced exam time frame. The shorter exam duration will also prepone the Result Day which earlier happened in the fourth week of May.

March 2018 will mark the return of the mandatory Class 10th board exams.  Both Class 10th and 12th CBSE board exams are highly competitive. Millions of candidates have registered for these exams, and about 18,000 schools are affiliated to the board.
