CBSE Class 12 Economics Re-exam: Post-Paper Analysis 2018

Today,25thApril, the CBSE Class 12EconomicsBoard Paperwas re-conducted successfully at 4,000 exam centres across India. Let us see the difficulty level of the paper and compare it with the previous one held on 26thMarchthis year.

Difficulty Level of the Paper

The paper was easyand consisted of straightforward questions similar to the paper which was conducted on 26th March. In Microeconomics, 85% of the paper consisted of direct questions, 5% of the paper consisted of average difficulty level questions and 10% of the paper had difficult questions. In Macroeconomics, 70% of the paper was easy and 30% of the paper was average.

 

Chapter-wise Marks Distribution

This year’s paper was different from that of last year.Project work of 20 marks was included in the 2017–18 paper. So, if we compare the chapter-wise weightage of marks of the paper with that of the CBSE blueprint, then it can be clearly seen that there were no variations in the chapter-wise weightage of marks.

Proportion of Numericals

The paper was a combination of theoretical and numerical questions. The numerical questions accounted for 11 marks and the theoretical questions accounted for 69 marks. The numerical questions were easy and straightforward. These were asked from the topics‘Money Multiplier’, ‘Average Propensity to Save’, ‘Consumption and Saving Functions’ and ‘National Income(using the Expenditure Method)’. The percentage of numerical questions in today’s paper was less than that in the previous one held on 26thMarch.
