CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2023 Post Paper Analysis - Chemistry (28th February)

The Chemistry paper was moderate but lengthy. Section A (MCQ) was moderate to difficult & Section B was easy to moderate.

CBSE conducted the Class 12 Chemistry paper on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. As per initial interaction with teachers, the Chemistry paper was moderately complex and was balanced and NCERT-based. Almost all the sections were manageable and in line with the syllabus.

The students were also satisfied as the paper seemed easy to moderate for average students. There were some simple and direct questions where textbook knowledge appeared to be the order of the day. On the other hand, the paper scored students who had done well in their studies.

Section B of the paper was straightforward, whereas the MCQ section was a little more complicated. The numerical part was also relatively easy to moderate and from past year board papers. Most of the questions were repeated questions from past year board papers.

Paper structure:

As per NEP, CBSE 12 Chemistry 2023 paper also followed a competency-based question pattern. About 30% of the exam was based on competency-based questions.
