CBSE Class 10 Maths Paper Analysis

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Mathematics exam for students of Class 10 today, 28th March. More than 16 lakh students all over India had appeared for this CBSE board exam. The maths paper was easy and scoring.

Question Paper Structure

  • The question paper consisted of 30 questions divided into four sections – A, B, C and D. Section A comprised 6 questions of 1 mark each, Section B comprised 6 questions of 2 marks each, Section C comprised 10 questions of 3 marks each and Section D comprised 8 questions of 4 marks each. 
  • There was no overall choice. However, an internal choice had been provided in 4 questions of 3 marks each and 3 questions of 4 marks each.

The chapters ‘Triangles’, ‘Quadratic Equations’ and ‘Trigonometry’ had the highest marks and number of questions asked, followed by ‘Arithmetic Progression’, ‘Statistics’ and ‘Coordinate Geometry’. ‘Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables’ had the least weightage of marks in the paper, followed by ‘Polynomials’.

In conclusion, the CBSE Class 10 Maths paper was an easy and scoring paper. Students who had practised solving questions from the textbook wouldn’t find this paper tough.

However, students please note that unfortunately this exam will be re-conducted at a later date as announced by CBSE.
