CBSE Board Exams 2020 - Guidelines to Change Exam Centre

CBSE has decided to shift board examination 2020 centre to students present location due to Covid-19 and has shared guidelines for students doing so.

By Topperlearning Expert 03rd Jun, 2020 04:58 pm

In our previous blog, we had mentioned how CBSE recently allowed the students to change the centres of the 2020 Board Exams due to COVID-19 lockdown. This announcement was made on 20th May 2020 and the details related to changing centres and procedures were listed on 2nd June 2020 by the board.

Eligibility Criteria for Exam Centre Change:

Regular Students

  • CBSE students need to make exam centre change requests through their own schools only
  • School will be responsible to contact the student and know their location and then send the requests to CBSE
  • It is also the student’s responsibility to inform the school of the same
  • Schools will have to use the e-pariksha portal to provide information. All information has to be uploaded in one lot and the submission link once closed will not be opened again
  • Certain districts in India without any CBSE affiliated schools will not have any exam centres. Check the full list in the CBSE notification
  • Students who are now in districts with no exam centre because of the above point will need to find a suitable neighbouring district to appear for their exams from and inform their school respective schools

Private Students

Candidates appearing for - second change compartment, failures of previous year, improvement of performance, additional subject, female candidates of NCT of Delhi, visually impaired candidates appearing as private candidates and Patrachar Vidyalaya candidates who have shifted from their district of examination centre to any other district in India are also eligible to apply for centre change through the CBSE website.

Important Points to Remember for Changing Exam Centre

  • Changing examination centre in the same district won’t be allowed
  • No school can conduct exams in the contamination zone
  • Private Candidates who didn’t move anywhere before March 18 to continue in their own location
  • CBSE schools outside India will not hold board exams; the results for these schools will be declared as per assessment rules to be decided by the board
  • CBSE will release the results of the board exams which will not be conducted as per assessment methods to be decided by the board
  • Students with special needs who do not wish to attend the exam can do so, their result will be     declared as per assessment rules to be decided by the board
  • Once you have changed a centre, you cannot change it for the second time
  • Exams will not be reconducted
  • Last date for submissions will remain unchanged
