CBSE Announces New Exam Format for VI to IX

The CBSE has decided to do away with the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme for classes VI to IX and has planned to roll out a uniform assessment process.

According to the latest development, CBSE students will be under a ‘uniform assessment’ process from Class VI. In addition, schools will have to adhere to CBSE's template from examinations to report cards. Let’s take a look at how the CBSE pattern was earlier.

 Points to Note:

1. Subject Enrichment activities are aimed will be carried out throughout the term but evaluated only at term-end.

2. Language teachers can devise their own methods and parameters for assessment of language skills.

3. Science practical activities will be in line with the NCERT syllabus and activities for reference can be found on the official website of CBSE.

4. Social Science may involve map and project work as per the NCERT syllabus and textbooks.

5. Co-scholastic Activities

      a) Work Education: Skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community.

      b) Art Education (Visual and Performing Arts)

      c) Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC/etc)

6. A 3-point grading scale for discipline (VI-VIII) assessing attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, etc.
