An Ideal Weekly Schedule for IIT Aspirants

An Ideal Weekly Schedule for IIT Aspirants

Let’s get started with important score-booster aspects which should be part of an ideal weekly schedule for IIT aspirants.

Stiff competition makes JEE preparation stressful for IIT aspirants. Of course, to get ready for JEE, you will have to prepare a schedule for learning concepts, revision and self-assessment. But make sure to find time for eating right and extra-curricular activities too. An ideal schedule will enable you to beat exam anxiety and prevent low exam scores resulting from health issues.

Let’s get started with important score-booster aspects which should be part of an ideal weekly schedule for IIT aspirants.

1. Study Plan for IIT Aspirants

If you ever heard running champions spilling their secrets, you will come across one important tip that’s applicable for JEE prep. To cover a long-distance run faster, you need to start by running slow. Why? It helps you to build your endurance. Many IIT aspirants make the mistake of trying to complete the entire syllabus too quickly. Doing so, you’ll end up forgetting most of the topics that you studied in haste.

So, make a study plan where you can complete small chunks of JEE prep topics at a time. Divide your study schedule into phases wherein you complete studying a certain portion of the syllabus in each phase. To create an effective study plan, allot sufficient time for revision of completed topics. For revision, you can include practising questions and answers of previous years’ papers in your study plan. This way, you can smartly spend your precious time learning new topics while effectively revising finished topics.

2. Diet Plan for IIT Aspirants

Food habits can impact your JEE scores. It’s true. If you don’t follow a proper diet during JEE preparations, your health may not be in your favour on exam day. Consuming street food closer to your exam day can be risky. You may not be able to focus if unfortunate health issues such as fever, diarrhoea, acidity etc. show up.

It will be wise to consume foods that are rich in vitamins, Omega-3 acids, amino acids, iron and other nutrients. These rich foods will improve your memory and keep you energised.

Here are a few important diet tips:

l  Consume nutrient-rich foods such as fresh fruits, fruit juices, almonds and milk.

l  Include nutritious food items such as dal, rice, chapatti, leafy vegetables, cheese, paneer and eggs in your diet.

l  Avoid eating heavy meals after long hours of studying because heavy meals can make you drowsy. Instead, eat 4–5 small meals in a day.

l  Poor dietary habits such as drinking less water can lead to dehydration issues. Drink minimum 8 glasses of water daily.

l  Avoid junk food such as pizzas, burgers etc. which are unhealthy and can make you sick.

A diet plan for IIT aspirants:

Fruits and a glass of milk

Noon Snack

Nuts and a glass of fresh fruit juice

Rice, chapatti, dal and boiled eggs

Evening Snack

Fruits and yogurt

Rice, chapatti, dal and salad

3. Webinars for IIT Aspirants

For IIT aspirants, webinars are very useful. Attend free powerful webinars to listen to experts and discuss JEE preparation. Also, JEE droppers and successful JEE toppers can become your JEE Main prep guides through these webinars. Listen to the valuable experiences of JEE toppers and how their strategies helped them to secure top scores.

Webinars are convenient for JEE students because you can attend them from any place without spending time and effort on travelling. Also, IIT aspirants can ask questions in the live webinars and clear their doubts about challenges faced by them.

4. Assessment Plan for IIT Aspirants

Boost your confidence for IIT JEE by incorporating an assessment plan in your study timetable. Without assessment, you won’t have clarity on the progress of your preparations. On TopperLearning, you can find assessments with online tests which can help you plan your studies.

A detailed assessment report will tell you about your speed and accuracy in tackling JEE questions. The ideal time to appear for an online test in your study plan would be after completing each chapter in your Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics syllabus for JEE.

5. De-stress Plan for IIT Aspirants

Preparing for JEE doesn’t mean you have to stop living your normal life. If you enjoy playing a musical instrument or participating in a sport, continue to include those activities in your schedule. It will not only minimise the exam pressure but also lift your mood. You’ll feel refreshed when you return to your study desk.

Also remember, extra-curricular activities can be a great way to relax and take a break from studies. These activities will act as stress-busters to cope with the anxiety and stress during your JEE preparations. Be cheerful by doing things you enjoy and you’ll be able to focus better during your engineering entrance exam.

Now, you should be in a better position to create a suitable weekly schedule with the right study plan, diet plan, assessment plan and de-stress plan for JEE prep. At the end of the day, you need to realise that you are just human and not a machine. Your body needs rest to function normally. If you want your body to support your aspirations, you need to take care of yourself.

Keep in mind that just as too much pressure spoils a good gravy when cooking it in a pressure cooker, putting too much pressure on yourself while studying can jeopardise efforts to reach your JEE study goals.
