Admissions to FY engineering courses to begin next week in Maharashtra

Once the MH-CET results are declared on June 1, admissions to first year engineering courses will begin soon after that. Admissions to various engineering colleges across Maharashtra will commence in the first week of June through a centralised admission process (CAP). Class 12 Board exam percentage plus the results of MH-CET will be the criteria on which colleges will enroll students.

Unlike 2015, where three rounds of admissions were held, this year the directorate of technical education (DTE) has announced that four admission rounds will take place.

Once the marksheets are available to students, registration to participate in CAP will begin. Interested candidates are required to pass (HSC) or its equivalent exam with compulsory subjects Physics and Mathematics.  And any one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical or Vocational subjects. They must score minimum 50% (for SCST and disabled persons the score is minimum 45%) in the above mentioned subjects.

There are approximately 376 institutes in Maharashtra which offer engineering/technology courses.
