The month of March is fast approaching. There is a certain energy coursing through the air. With the CBSE Board exams breathing down the neck of students, you will hardly find someone who does not have their nose buried in books. Both 10^th and 12^th standard CBSE Board exams are scheduled to begin from 5^th March.

With only two weeks left to go, CBSE has released the admit cards for 10^th and 12^th standard students who will be appearing for the exam. Regular students can directly collect their admit cards from their respective schools. As far as private candidates are concerned, they will have to download their admit card from the official CBSE website.

As you may know already, the admit card is the most important document for students. They will not be allowed to write the exam if they fail to produce it at the exam centre. Students may also be forbidden from writing exams if their admit cards show any discrepancy. Hence, students are advised to check for any error as soon as they receive it. Here are 8 things that a CBSE Board examination admit card must have.

Photograph

The photograph is probably the first thing students will notice in their admit cards. They will notice it all the more if it’s missing. Make sure you bring it to the school authorities’ notice immediately if this is the case with you. It is your photograph that validates the admit card, and makes it admissible. Without it, you will not be allowed to write the exam.

Signature

Your signature on the admit card certifies it as original. For regular students, this should not be an issue as your school authorities will make sure that you sign your admit card before taking it home. For private students, they will themselves have to make sure that they sign their admit cards after downloading it.

Date of Birth

For all 10^th standard students, we would like to bring it to your notice that it is imperative to check your date of birth on the admit card, and make sure it is entered correctly. CBSE Class 12 Board students need not worry if this field is left vacant.

Personal Information

These are details pertaining to your school name, mother’s name and father’s name. Students are advised to ensure that this information is entered correctly so as to avoid any confusion later.

Roll Number

Needless to point out, this is the most important part of your admit card. You will find your roll number printed at the top left corner of your admit card. It will be printed, both in numbers and in words. Make sure that the two of them tally. If there is any disparity between the two, you should notify the school authorities.

Centre Number

As the name suggests, this number refers to the centre allocated to you. It may interest you to know that since last year, students are required to type in their centre number to access their board exam results. So, you would want to keep it handy. Remember to check that it is entered in your admit card before you carry it home with you.

Principal’s Signature and Stamp

Without this, your admit card still remains invalid. So, once you receive your admit card, check for the Principal’s signature and stamp on it. As for private candidates, you need not worry about this.

Now, apart from these things listed, students should also minutely read through other details like subject group and examination date to make sure everything is in place. Students should minutely read the instructions provided at the back of the admit card and get their doubts clarified on time to avoid any hassle on the day of the exam. Please note that you have to carry the original admit card on all exam days, copies of it won’t be accepted. You will have to keep your admit cards at least till your results are out.
