6-Day Week for CBSE Class 6 to 8

CBSE has mandated six working days for teachers and students of Class 6 to 8. The Board has directed all schools to work 6 hours 10 minutes each day for six days a week. However, a five-day week will remain for students up to Class 5.

CBSE has also directed that teachers will have to stay back after school for an additional 1 hour 20 minutes six days a week. This extra time must be used for planning, preparation and feedback.

Every teacher of Class 1 to 8 will have to devote 1,200 hours a year to teaching, of which 200 hours will be devoted to weak and gifted students before or after school hours. If any teacher plans to devote more than 1,200 hours, then extra remuneration will be paid according to the demands.
